Founded by Harmonie Malengo and Irene Yu in 2021, Hotspot Creatives is a dynamic network that fosters community through creativity by showcasing emerging talent and producing diverse projects. As a media agency, our mission is to legitimize creativity and art culturally by creating a central space for creators to inspire collaboration, nurture talent and bring creative visions to life.

HARMONIE MALENGO
Harmonie Malengo, is a Congolese Photographer, Creative Producer and Co-founder of Hotspot Creatives. As a self taught artist, she values building a community for underrepresented artists to cultivate their skills and be empowered. She’s also a proud alumni of D&AD Shift New York, a program for emerging creatives entering advertising and design. Malengo is currently completing her BA in Political Science at UCSC and working full time as a photographer in the Bay Area.
IRENE YU
Based in Oakland, Irene Yu is the co-founder and Chief of Operations at Hotspot Creatives. She is also the creative director of Siempre Agency and a freelance graphic designer, and has a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at Berkeley. In her free time, she loves to collect magazines and records, paint and play with her cat, Knives Chau.
